High Accuracy DC Current Sensors for Metering

Some DC metering applications place high demands on measurement accuracy, bandwidth and installation constraints.
The DC metering range includes:
– Ultra High Accuracy Current Sensors (UHACS) with multi-point zero-flux technology and high-frequency ripple sensing.
– Hall Effect DC current sensors in solid core and split core formats for installations where conductors cannot easily be disconnected.
Ultra High Accuracy Current Sensors (UHACS) are intended for DC metering applications requiring high measurement accuracy across the full bandwidth range. The UHACS range uses multi-point zero-flux technology together with a high-frequency ripple sensing channel.
Hall Effect DC current sensors are included for applications where installation conditions, conductor accessibility or retrofit requirements influence sensor selection. The DC metering range includes both solid core and split core formats across different current ratings.
UHACS Sensors
In high-accuracy DC metering, the current sensor is part of the measurement chain. Measurement stability, bandwidth response and ripple behaviour affect the quality of the recorded measurement data.
The FCS UHACS series uses solid core Ultra High Accuracy Current Sensors for metering applications where sensor performance matters as part of the system itself, not only the measured current value.
Multi-point zero-flux technology and a dedicated high-frequency ripple sensing channel sit at the centre of the UHACS design. The sensors are built for high gain and measurement accuracy across the full bandwidth range instead of simple nominal current indication alone.
UHACS models are specified with both DC and AC nominal current ratings, with AC values referenced as effective RMS values.
The series includes:
• FCS-300
• FCS-600
• FCS-1000
• FCS-2500
The UHACS series includes models from ±300A DC up to ±2500A DC.
Hall Effect DC Current Sensors
Hall Effect DC current sensors are used for DC current measurement in applications where installation access, retrofit conditions or conductor disconnection influence sensor selection.
The Hall Current Sensors includes both solid core and split core formats across different current ratings. Split core versions are used where an existing conductor cannot easily be disconnected during installation or replacement work.
The Hall Effect group includes:
• HCS100-S
• HCS1000
• HCS2000-S
The HCS models are intended for DC current measurement with compatible SATEC DC-metering devices.
Current ratings extend from 0–100A up to 2000A depending on sensor type and construction.
