Arcteq AQ-110PLV – Arc Flash Protection Relay

AQ‑110PLV is an arc flash protection relay for LV/MV switchgear and can be used as a stand-alone unit or as the main unit in an AQ 100 system. Four arc point sensor channels accept up to 12 sensors, with an optional S5 fibre loop sensor channel or arc-quenching device control. Protection functions include light only, overcurrent and light, earth fault and light, light and pressure, and circuit breaker failure protection. The relay is available with standard CT or Rogowski inputs and provides two high-speed outputs with a 2 ms operating time, four trip relays with a 7 ms operating time, complete self-supervision and optional Modbus RTU.

AQ‑110PLV is an arc flash protection relay for LV/MV switchgear. It detects arc light through point sensors or an optional fibre loop sensor and can use measured or externally supplied overcurrent as an additional trip criterion. The relay can operate as a stand-alone unit or as the main unit in a wider AQ 100 arc protection system.

Four arc point sensor channels accept up to 12 sensors, while the optional S5 channel can be used with a fibre loop sensor or to control an arc-quenching device. Protection functions include light only, phase overcurrent and light, earth fault and light, light and pressure, and circuit breaker failure protection. The relay is available with standard CT inputs or Rogowski inputs.

Trip relay operation takes 7 ms, while the two high-speed semiconductor outputs operate in 2 ms. Complete self-supervision and optional Modbus RTU support both stand-alone applications and integration into wider protection and control systems. AQ‑110PLV is suitable for new installations and retrofit projects in utilities, power plants, industrial facilities and commercial electrical systems.
  • Key features
  • Protection criteria: light only; phase overcurrent and light (50Arc); earth fault and light (50NArc); and light and pressure when AQ‑02 sensors are used
  • Light-only or light-and-current operation selected individually for S1 and S2, with a common selection for S3–S5
  • Three phase current inputs: 1 A/5 A CT inputs or Rogowski inputs, depending on the version ordered
  • Rogowski input settings of 22.5, 100 or 333 mV/kA at 50 Hz
  • Four arc point sensor channels, S1–S4; up to 12 point sensors in total, with a maximum of three sensors per channel
  • Compatible with AQ‑01 light sensors and AQ‑02 light-and-pressure sensors
  • Optional S5 fibre loop sensor channel for AQ‑06, AQ‑07 or AQ‑08 sensors, or for arc-quenching device control
  • Two high-speed semiconductor outputs with a 2 ms operating time
  • Four trip relays with a 7 ms operating time; T3 is optionally available as a normally closed electronic lock-out relay
  • Two binary inputs, one binary output and one change-over system failure relay
  • Circuit breaker failure protection with a selectable delay of 100 ms or 150 ms in the applicable logic schemes
  • 92…265 V AC/DC auxiliary supply or optional 18…72 V DC auxiliary supply
  • Sixteen DIP switches for logic configuration
  • Nineteen indication LEDs and a multifunction SET button for auto-configuration, indication reset and system checks
  • Self-supervision of the power supply, hardware, software, sensor connections, binary input connections, DIP-switch settings and current transformer circuits
  • Optional Modbus RTU for direct SCADA/DCS integration or connection to an AQ‑250 device for onward communication over IEC 61850 or another supported protocol

Typical applications

  • LV and MV switchgear, including motor control centres, in utilities, power plants, industrial facilities and commercial electrical systems
  • Stand-alone and multi-device arc protection schemes for new installations and retrofit projects

Dimensions

  • Overall dimensions (H × W × D): 177 × 102 × 168 mm
  • Door mounting or panel mounting in a standard 19-inch rack
